ORANCO BOWMEN

Tournament Archer of the Year

The Tournament Archer of the Year is a competition among Oranco members.  Oranco has long supported archery for everyone, and has a long history of supporting archery in other clubs, not just its own.  The Tournament Archer of the Year Award is given out at our Annual Awards Banquet to the archer who has gone to and won the most tournaments for the year, based on a point system. It starts each year on January 1st , and ends on December 31st.

ATTENTION:  The "Tournament Archer of the Year" contest is divided into Men's and Women's divisions!  Each division will be shooting against themselves only!

"How do I get into this contest?"

The contest is open to all Oranco Bowmen members.  Qualifying tournaments include all national, regional, state, and local club archery tournaments.  If you shoot in a tournament, you get points for attending the tournament, and points for placing first, second, or third in the tournament or in your class in the tournament.  Fill out the report cards and get them to the Tournament Chairman.  The more tournaments you shoot in, the more points you accumulate.  The points are tallied, and the Tournament Archer of the Year Award is given at the Annual Banquet.

Here is how you earn points:
.
* 2 points for each day of the tournament.
  (1 day = 2 points, 2 day tournament = 4 points, etc.)
.

* Bonus points for winning at local club shoots:

  First place = 3 points
  Second place = 2 points
  Third place = 1 point
.
* Bonus points for winning state or national shoots:
  First place = 5 points
  Second place = 4 points
  Third place = 3 points
.

* Scalps & Skins shoots count for attendance only.

* Qualifier Rounds & Animal Rounds count for attendance only.

The report cards, available at the clubhouse, will hold about one month of shoots, so it will be very easy to leave it at the range in the Tournament Chairman mailbox, or give it to the Tournament Chairman in person. Report cards are to be turned in within 60 days after the tournaments.  At the end of the year, the report cards must be turned in no later than December 31st.

Cards are available at the range clubhouse, or ask the Tournament Chairman for some when you see him/her.
